About Bill

Hello, I am Bill Williams, I work one on one with executive leaders, teams and boards to help them move forwards faster, unblocking issues and supporting their journey to move themselves, their companies, teams, and profits forwards faster. My passion is working with people to support them on their leadership journey.

Executive leadership could be a beautiful time, it is a privilege that few get to experience and done well the results can be astounding. I know this as I have done it, and there have been times what I have loved it, and times when I have not.

Around 20 years ago, on joining a company as its CEO, the Chairman advised me that should I ever go to him and advise that I did not know what to do he would commence the search for a new CEO. At the same time, he insisted that I find a coach. My initial response what that I didn’t need one, I was on the top of my game, had already been a CEO and before that a board director, I really didn’t feel the need for a coach or mentor. 

In the first 6 months of my role and having found and appointed a coach, I was dealing with a difficult shareholder issue that ultimately led to the dissolution of a partnership, it was a highly charged journey. Along the way my coach advised that I should take the senior non-executive director to a pivotal client meeting. Why I questioned, its not like they are anywhere close enough to the detail to add value to what I knew was going to be a charged meeting. His reply “Because you need an independent voice and assessment of the situation in your board meeting, as it is all coming from you at the moment, there will be politics as this unravels”. It was advice that probably saved my job. I have had a mentor and/or coach ever since that experience.

Business, like life, is relationships. You build and move relationships forwards one conversation at a time. My passion, and gift, is helping executive business leaders get unstuck through powerful conversations with purpose. I help executives to keep moving towards realising their full potential in their professional and personal lives.

I often see more of the pieces of the jigsaw of complex issues faster than others. I share insights and questions to help unblock the way forwards, to generate the stimulus that help senior executives reach decisions and fully commit to moving forwards. The most challenging situations are not necessarily complicated, this does not however mean that they are easy. 

I can see the obstacles and pathways others cannot, and I can say the things others dare not, in a meaningful and positively provocative way. I love working with open, curious leaders and supporting them to move forwards to their next level. 

My personal values are Curiosity, living life with an innate questioning and interest in everything, Kindness, being considerate and caring for others and Tenacity, the quality of determination and belief, I like to term it as “bouncebackability”
